Mercadito Comunitario helps new or emerging entrepreneurs test their concept and refine their product and marketing approaches in a supportive environment provided at Access headquarters.  

Become a Vendor

The Mercadito Comunitario vendor applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.  Preference is given to residents of the City of San Diego and individuals enrolled or would like to enroll in the Access Microenterprise Program, supported by Community Development Block Grant funding.  For more information contact us.

Booth Information

  • Booth space is 10′ x 10′

  • Vendors are responsible for providing everything necessary for their booth (i.e. canopy, table, chairs, signage, etc.)

  • Vendors are required to pay for space monthly (please see below for fee information)

 

Special Terms for Food Vendors (Hot, Cold, Packaged)

  • The following documents are required:

    • Business Tax Certificate

    • California Sellers License from the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration

    • Temporary Food Facility permit (TFF) or Cottage Food Certificate (CFC) from the SD County Department of Environmental Health at www.sdcounty.ca.gov/deh/food/tempevents.html

    • Food Handler Card for each employee or on site Certified Card Safety Manager

    • Proof of access to a certified commercial kitchen for food preparation OR Proof of the source of purchased prepared food

    • Comprehensive Liability Vendor Insurance

 

Special Terms for Merchandise Vendors (Arts, crafts, and other non-food items)

  • The following documents are required:

    • Business Tax Certificate

    • California Sellers License from the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration 

    • Comprehensive Liability Vendor Insurance​

Special Terms for Promotional Vendors (Services, Marketing, Information, etc.)

  • Must show proof of the following documents:

    • Business Tax Certificate

Fees

The purpose of the Community Market is to increase the retention and growth of small businesses in the City of San Diego through providing a space for the vendors to sell products or promote their services. A nominal fee of $5.00 per week is required.  Vendors will be billed monthly.
