A Dynamic Panel Addressing Violence Against Women through Story

Last month, in San Antonio, Texas, the Association of Writers and Writing Programs hosted a panel with Access' Anne Bautista, VAWA Legal Program Director and Carolyne Ouya, African Victim Advocate along with Marivi Soliven, Author of The Mango Bride and Ari Honarvar, of the Musical Ambassadors of Peace, to discuss violence against women through story telling. These amazing women are drawn to this work to empower women because of their own experiences as marginalized women of color. They presented to over 60 attendees and were able to share the power of story telling and writing through their own stories, showing that they are here, they matter, and they cannot be erased.
