ID8 High Academy Intern Learns First Hand About Victims of Domestic Violence

On February 28, 2020, 16 year old Intern, Daniel Soria from ID8 High Academy completed his month long internship with Access' Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) Legal Program.  He presented his experience to Access staff and ID8 classmates, sharing that the biggest challenge for him was interviewing victims.  He did not like feeling helpless as he listened to the harrowing stories of mental and physical abuse.  Through the support of his Internship Supervisor and Legal Director Anne Bautista, he learned that Access plays a key role in giving victims the opportunity, in a safe space, to speak so they can eventually heal and move forward to a bright future.

Daniel stated, "Interning here has only changed me in a positive way, I think that I'm leaving this program as a more knowledgeable and insightful person".
